Today we travelled from Chinle, AZ to Bloomfield, NM ... the long way around. The 311 mile drive included a side-trip to Monument Valley and Goulding Lodge.
These formations just appear ... unlike anything we've seen
Strange shapes
Appear across the desert floor
In clusters
And all alone
Can you see the Mexican Hat? This is just outside Mexican Hat, AZ
Goulding Lodge ... a trading post and movie location for years
Look who just came in on the stage!
We're parked at Desert Rose Resort in Bloomfield for the next two days. It's a nice place with beautiful rose gardens.
